The GS1 Global Individual Asset Identifier (GIAI) is one of two GS1 keys for asset identification. Companies can apply a GIAI to any asset to uniquely identify and manage that asset. In healthcare, this could be wheelchairs, beds and specific parts of these. It can also be a computer, an office, a vehicle, a means of transport or a spare part, to give just a few examples.
