Opt-out communication

What is opt-out?

“Opting out” means that you do not grant a data recipient permission to view your information. Therefore  your publication settings are set to private for the concerned products.

When new data recipients connect to My Product Manager, we find it important to keep you informed. The email about this procedure is not only to notify you of the new connection but also to allow you to consciously decide whether this recipient may view your data and, if necessary, to adjust your publications.

Why opt-out or make public?

Your product sheets not only feed websites and web shops but also support companies’ internal systems or provide data to consumers with certain allergies, dietary needs, etc.

Making your own brand products public ensures good data flow, visibility, and efficiency.

Opting out is particularly important for products identified as private labels or store brands. In such cases, it is not intended for all recipients to receive the information. Only the brand owner can make this information public.

How does the principle work?

Setting: "Private"

The setting is configured as "private" in the default settings and per GTIN.

The new data recipient will not automatically have access to information about new items or existing items with this setting.

Setting: "Public"

The setting is configured as "public" in the default settings and per GTIN.

The new data recipient will automatically have access to information about new items and existing items with this setting.

How to proceed?

  1. Go to the "My Publications" tab.
  2. Use the search field to enter a brand name or click the filter to filter by "Brand".
    1. Note! This second option only works if all your brands are registered in the "My Brands" tab.
  3. Selection complete? Click "Start bulk action".
  4. A new pop-up screen will appear. You then have two options if you want to expand your selection:
    1. Add products: You can filter additional brands to include in the selection.
    2. Add GTINs: You can enter a list of GTINs.
  5. Click Next and select the purpose of your opt-out. For the opt-out procedure, choose "Data recipients connected to My Product Manager".
  6. Select the clients who may view your data for the selected items.
  7. Click Next to apply the settings.
