How can I resolve my error messages?

Error messages can have the following causes:

  • The data quality report
  • The simulation report
  • The audit report
  • After importing via Excel
  • Via your customers’ control systems

You can address this in two ways: in My Product Manager or in your own system. Below we explain the procedure for My Product Manager, but you can apply the same principle to your own system.

Sheet by sheet
  • Open the product sheet in the interface.
  • View the error messages that you receive in the sidebar on the right.
  • Click on an error message and go to the relevant field.
  • Amend the data until there are no more error messages.
  • Validate and release at both product and hierarchy level.
In bulk
  • You can filter the Excel version of your error report by error message.
  • Select 1 GTIN from the list and correct the error in the interface.
  • Then download this GTIN as well as an example.
  • Follow the steps on this page to then implement the amendments via Excel.

Warnings vs Errors: what's the difference?

Error messages appear in My Product Manager because the data you entered does not match the logical validations of the current sector data model. There are two types of error messages:

  • Warnings: these are not blocking, but do warn you that your data does not match the current data model. You can ignore them, but we still recommend resolving them.
  • Errors: these are blocking. You will not be able to validate or publish your product sheet to your customers. They will not be able to see your data.
