Using My Product Manager, you can publish to recipients outside of Belgium and Luxembourg. This is done via the GS1 GDSN network.
The following is important in this respect:
- Under land of sale in the product sheet itself, specify the countries where you have GDSN recipients.
- At all times make sure you also add Belgium, which is required for the validation rules.
- We carry out few to no validations for other target markets. The reason being that most of our fields run in sync and that their data models change, same as our own, something for which we are not sent notifications.
- Most fields are identical for all countries. However, there are a few target market-specific fields such as:
- Tax information
- Best before date
- Biocides (upcoming)
- In the ‘My publications’ tab, the publication setting in the ‘GDSN targets’ column must be correct.
Here are a few target market-specific details:
The Netherlands runs a data quality program for food products and pharmacy products. For other sectors too, where consumer data are important, we will be launching audit programs over the years ahead.
Further details about the program and the registration to be carried out if you are under obligation to take part are available from the GS1 Netherlands website.
You can send product information to the French market via GS1 GDSN. The GS1 France website has guidelines with target market and sector-specific information.
In France, GS1 also uses GDSN-controlled pricing notifications. This is not supported My Product Manager. However, check out GS1-certified datapools which do offer this functionality.
Here you can choose either of 2 options in the French datapools.
- You opt for free access to the networks whereby you enter the product data on these platforms (= not connected to My Product Manager).
Please note that you will need a GLN to do so that is different from the one you are using in My Product Manager. You can create a new GLN via My Locations. - You choose to set-up a connection to My Product Manager, which usually does involve an extra fee. This enables you to manage and publish the data from My Product Manager and to forward the pricing information in a separate channel in the French datapool.
In Germany the datapool has an in-built data quality portal. This checks all products that are sent to their target market to determine whether or not a data quality check is required. This check is performed based on various parameters.
If you receive a REVIEW message via the GDSN feedback saying ’This item has not been DQX approved’, you are required to take part in the quality program to pass on the information to your German recipients.
Further details about the program and how to register if you are under obligation to take part are available from the GS1 Germany website, as well as from the data model.
