Partner in the spotlight: Quadient
GS1 partners support our members to implement GS1 standards. These partners can help in different domains, from identification of products to transactional data exchange.
One of these partners is Quadient. They help customers with the digitalisation of their transactional communication with the following services: Intelligent Communication Automation, Smart Mailing and Shipping solutions, Intelligent Parcel Locker solutions
According to Quadient, the question is not “if”, but “when” transactional processes (e.g. invoicing, procurement…) will be fully digitalised. There is a global evolution towards “paperless” transactions throughout the world, which makes sense as companies often do not only work locally, but often deal with cross-border transactions. This transition from paper to electronic is driven by three key factors. The first one is the benefits deriving from digitalisation and automation. The second one is of course legislation that is pushing for digitalisation as more and more governments see its benefits. And the final key driver is reducing the environmental footprint we all have on the planet by lowering the total amount of resources used in these transactions. Quadient can assist GS1 members with all their needs related to the digitalisation of their transactional communication.
More concretely, Quadient offers EDI and e-invoicing capabilities to their customers. Through different solutions for the exchange of electronic documents and data, they allow their customers to send invoices in a variety of electronic formats to both government platforms like Mercurius for the Belgian government, as well as through private networks (B2B). Furthermore, they also help companies to implement electronic document exchange solutions via PEPPOL.
'VAT in the digital age'
The publication of ‘VAT in the digital age’ means that every SME and every multinational will be obliged to start with electronic invoicing by 2024. This will have a big impact on their daily transactions. More specific for SME’s, this will be a daunting challenge, especially if they’re told they must switch quickly and follow dozens of different technical and legal requirements. Thanks to their historical knowledge of mailing processes and their new solutions for electronic exchange, Quadient is in the best position to support every company, no matter what their current situation is and the speed at which they want to transition.
