In the processes, terms such as stopping articles, depublishing, or republishing are frequently mentioned. Each term has its own meaning and procedure.
This step is used:
- When you have published data but receive no GDSN feedback after 24 hours.
- When you resolve the GDSN feedback "EXCEPTION" in the sheet and release it again.
Steps to follow:
- Go to "My Publications".
- Search for the relevant GTIN and its publication.
- In the "GDSN Targets" column, click on the settings and change the status to "Private" with an empty text box.
- Save.
- Add the publication setting for the relevant GTIN again.
This step is used:
- If the hierarchy was created incorrectly (e.g., a carton contains 6 units instead of 4). You must depublish before making the correction;
- If you have published more than just the top level of the hierarchy to the GDSN targets.
Steps to follow:
- Go to "My Publications".
- Search for the relevant GTIN and its publication.
- Click on the setting in the "GDSN Targets" column and set it to "Private" with an empty text box.
- Save.
This step is used when you no longer sell an article and want to remove it from the market via the GDSN network. This also positively impacts your data quality report.
Steps to follow:
- Enter an end date in the past.
Open the product sheet for the base unit, enter the end date in the "Timings" tab (last field in the tab), and save. - Assign an end date to all higher-level GTINs.
Do this for all other items in the hierarchy.
Need to stop many items? This can be done via Excel. - Ensure the hierarchies are released.
Errors blocking the release? To stop the product sheet, resolve the errors (eventually by using dummy data via Excel). Only then can the data flow through the network, and data recipients will be notified. - Depublish 24 hours after entering the end date.
Wait 24 hours, then depublish the hierarchies. This ensures the end date has been properly processed.
To prevent the reuse and resale of barcodes, the deletion of GTINs is restricted. This ensures the code remains known in Verified by GS1. To delete product sheets with GTINs, you can contact the helpdesk with a list of GTINs and the reason.
Through My Product Manager, you can delete product sheets without GTINs. In the "My Products" tab, a trash can icon will appear after selecting the relevant product.
When can you delete a product sheet?
