Working group Couponing 2.0

The Belgian-Luxembourg market has always had a strong affinity for coupons. However, with the rise of smartphones and the opportunities offered by mobile couponing, it is crucial for couponing to further evolve to meet the needs of an ever-changing environment.

The current standards, developed by the industry and based on GS1 identification keys, have already simplified the creation and sharing of coupon master data among various parties within the couponing industry. The next step is to fully digitize all information exchanges (such as coupon redemption) and to introduce validation for unique promotional codes. This is necessary to ensure that codes are used correctly and in accordance with promotional terms while simultaneously making it easier to automate this validation at the point of sale.

The goal of this working group is to bring all stakeholders together to drive change in the current situation, collaboratively define solutions for the remaining obstacles to mobile coupon implementation, and ensure a level playing field.
