Twinings & My Data Capture: the perfect blend for product data

Twinings, known for their high-quality teas, started 2025 with the goal of publishing their product data on My Product Manager. However, this came with unexpected challenges and.… a saving angel, My Data Capture. We spoke with Hilde, Sales Assistant at Twinings Benelux.

Creating product sheets: a bitter first infusion

Twinings has been working with GS1 for nearly 20 years to support their sales. But using My Product Manager is an extension of this chapter. "Our customers asked us to publish on My Product Manager."

"This new experience with My Product Manager was very positive, but it took a lot of time and involved some trial and error," Hilde explains. "We often received error messages and didn’t know what to do. As soon as we fixed one error, new ones would appear."

The saving angel: My Data Capture

In search of a solution, Hilde reached out to GS1 Belgilux. She learned about My Data Capture, a service where GS1 experts register and make product information available in My Product Manager. “For us, it was the saving angel,” says Hilde.

The only challenge? Convincing Twinings' management and staff. But thanks to the good price-to-quality ratio and the enormous time savings, the decision was made quickly.

Twinings started by capturing 26 product packages and 3 logistical packages, resulting in a total of 78 product sheets. The data capture process went very smoothly. For capturing logistical information, they only needed to convert existing Excel data into PDF. Afterwards, they could upload these along with the product packaging artwork into My Product Manager. 

“And I must say, it went very quick. What would have taken us a month with two people, was done in just 2 days thanks to My Data Capture! And this was just the beginning. Many more products are coming for capture,” Hilde enthusiastically shares.
